Gra Recon jest pierwszą grą, której tematyka dotyczy wojny wietnamskiej. Pierwsza edycja została wydana w roku 1982 przez RPG Inc., druga w 1986 przez Palladium, a obecnie funckjonuje od roku 1999 wersja poprawiona deluxe. Gracze w czasie rozgrywki wcielają się w role amerykańskich zołnierzy.

Probably the first 'Nam RPG. PCs are grunts on patrol. Has an image of the PBR (Patrol Boat, River) that was made immortal by Apocalypse Now. This is the staple-bound first edition of a game that became much more popular through the revised version published by Palladium. It is however exactly as gritty as one might expect. Players take the role of US military characters. The first edition was released in 1982 by RPG Inc. The second edition was released in 1986 by Palladium. A "deluxe" revised edition was released in 1999.
