Lumines jest bardzo udaną mieszanką puzzli i łamigłówki - zasady zblizone są do Tetrisa, ale czeka Was wiele niespodzianek/ulepszeń na polu rozgrywki w stosunku do tego starego, ale jarego pomysłu. Co od razu daje się usłyszeć, to doskonała muzyka elektroniczna budowana na podstawie tego, co akurat wyprawia na planszy z klockami gracz. Podobnie jak w kultowym REZ, wydarzenia na ekranie mają bardzo bliski związek z dźwiękami wydobywającymi się akurat z głośników. Na pewno nie zawiedzie Was liczba trybów gry, bo te dają solidną porcję rozrywki samotnemu graczowi jak i dwóm graczom jednocześnie.

PlayStation 2 owners, rejoice! Lumines finally hits Sony's console in the form of Lumines Plus, a very affordable and highly addictive puzzle game that will enthrall gamers for hours. Apart from reusing most of its content from its prequels, it remains mesmerizing and fun.

Like the previous releases, Lumines Plus builds upon a basic principle and then surrounds itself with a stylish interface. The game consists of putting together similarly colored squares from pieces that fall to the ground. A glowing bar works its way around in a constant rotation, eliminating these squares with each pass. As gamers proceed, the boards, also known as "skins" switch out thus changing the game's appearance and sound. One minute, it sounds like something out of an industrial factory, complete with a robot voice saying "PASS!" The next could be a psychedelic appearance.

Players earn numerous skins over the course of the game's Challenge Mode, allowing them to express to other players, which ones stand out as their favorites. None of these skins lack in design. Each carries a techno-themed tune and visual appearance that fits the game's tone. Unfortunately, Q Entertainment borrowed some of them from previous games.
